2026 WEEK OF PRAYER FOR CHRISTIAN UNITY
The 2026 Week of Prayer for Christian Unity will run from January 18 - 25 and is observed by Christian traditions worldwide. The ecumenical initiative invites Christian traditions to pray for the unity of the church and to reflect on Jesus' prayer " that they may all be one" ( John 17: 21 ). This year's theme is inspired by Ephesians 4: " There is one Body and one Spirit, just as you are called to the one hope of your calling."
The week of Prayer Christian Unity has been encouraging prayer and reflection on Christian harmony and collaboration since the late 1800's.
Attached are 3 prayers that are found on the United Church website for individual or community use and Rev. Kerry will be utilizing them in his prayers during the week. He encourages us all to enter into a time of prayer each day with our Christian siblings from around the world.
CHAMPION
On Wednesday, January 28th, (in two weeks), Bonnie and Brian are taking us on a travelogue trip to Scandinavia/ Finland/ Sweden/ Norway/ Denmark and some Baltics ( Estonia/Lithuania/Lativa/Poland). All are welcome to come and enjoy this presentation. You do not have to be a member of CHAMPION to attend. CHAMPION starts at 1:00pm
RECYCLING
Please be aware that the City of London is no longer collecting the church's recycle items. This is a provincial ruling that they will no longer pick up business or church recycling. Therefore, please consider what you do with paper and cardboard at the church. At present, Marg LaRocque and Kim will try to take home the cardboard and other recyclables. Mary Kannakko takes the green bin waste from the parlour kitchenette.

PSALM FOR THE WEEK:
Psalm 40: 1 - 3 ( New revised Standard Version Updated Edition)
I waited patiently for the Lord;
he inclined to me and heard my cry.
He drew me up from the desolate pit,
out of the miry bog,
and set my feet upon the rock,
making my steps secure.
He put a new song in my mouth,
a song of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear
and put their trust in the Lord.
PRAYER FOR THE WEEK:
Holy God,
our strength and our hope;
by your Spirit hold us forever,
that through your grace we may
worship you and faithfully serve
you, follow you and joyfully find you,
through Jesus Christ our Saviour. Amen
Prayer focus for the week: Those that are awaiting medical testing, surgeries or are in the hospital.
