Calvary Compass – February 10, 2026 - Calvary United Church, www.calvaryuc.ca
Dear Friends of Calvary,
Rev. Kerry will be back on Thursday, February 12th. Hopefully he will have brought some warmer weather for us.
Thank you to Bill Butt for conducting the last two Sunday Worship Services while Rev. Kerry was away. Bill's slide presentations about Indigenous history and activities enhances our appreciation of our Land Acknowledgement and our knowledge of the Indigenous people.
Rev. Michelle Owens will be conducting our Worship Service this Sunday. It is the 3rd Sunday in the month and part of the collaboration rotation.
Many of you knew Christine and Paul Watson when they were members of Calvary. Paul died last Wednesday morning. He had been Chair of Council and also was involved in the Stewardship and Finance Committee. Both were active at Calvary. His funeral is on Thursday in Toronto.

SEVEN WEEK SPIRITUAL JOURNEY
Rev. Dr. Anne Beattie-Stokes is leading a Seven Week Spiritual Journey
When: Friday mornings from 10:30 am - noon from February 13th to March 27th
Where: White Oaks United Church
The Bible is full of stories as ancient writers remember, reflect, wrestle and try to make sense of life with God and with one another. These stories were passed down so that we might remember, reflect and wrestle with our lives: taking stock of how far we've come, reconnecting with the present, and turning the page toward the future.
On our journey together, we'll carry the Bible in one hand and the wisdom of Madeleine L'Engle in the other as we connect our stories to the gospel stories for Ash Wednesday and the Sundays of Lent and Palm/Passion Sunday. We'll gather together on Fridays and dive into the material. During the week to follow, we'll reflect and write our life stories using practices from the study guide.
If you would like to join the journey, please call or email Beth at White Oaks United Church to register, so we can print your free study guide. 519-681-3229 or churchoffice@whiteoaksunitedchurch.ca

PSALM FOR THE WEEK
Psalm 99: 1 - 5 from the New International Version Translation
The Lord reigns,
let the nations tremble;
he sits enthroned between two cherubim,
let the earth shake.
Great is the Lord in Zion;
he is exalted over all nations.
Let them praise your great and awesome name ---
he is holy.
The King is mighty, he loves justice --
you have established equity;
in Jacob you have done
what is just and right.
Exalt the Lord our God
and worship at his footstool;
he is holy.
PRAYER FOR THE WEEK
God of light and love,
in your great love for us you revealed
your light in your son, Jesus Christ.
Stir up faith in us, that we may share his light
with others in all we say and do.
In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
Prayer Focus: For Calvary's committees and the work that they do for not only Calvary, but also the community that we serve.
