UNDIE SUNDAY

Don't get your knickers in a knot!

Our Undie Sunday drive has begun. It will close on Sunday, May 18th. Mission Services London stated that their current need is Men's Medium boxers, Women's Medium briefs, travel toiletries and Men's shoes size 10 - 12. Feel free to make your own purchases, but as in the past, I have a greater buying power with bulk purchases. Donations can be etransferred to krisgoodman@live.ca (Please note that you will not receive a tax receipt if you etransfer to Kris Goodman). Donations of cash or cheques can be put onto the offering plate with a note on the envelope and on the memo line stating Undie Sunday. Cheques are to be made out to Calvary United Church and you will receive a receipt next February. Mission Services appreciate any of our gifts that we bring and thank us for our ongoing support. This is a very real way that we can support those less fortunate than ourselves.

Psalm for the Week:

Psalm 29: 1-2, 10-11  from the Common English Bible translation

You, divine beings! Give to the Lord—

    give to the Lord glory and power!

Give to the Lord the glory due his name!

    Bow down to the Lord in holy splendor!

The Lord sits enthroned over the floodwaters;

    the Lord sits enthroned—king forever!

Let the Lord give strength to his people!

    Let the Lord bless his people with peace!

Prayer for the Week:

God of abundance,

we praise you for your presence even in midst of turmoil.

When we lose hope in a joyful morning, sustain us through

the night. Guide us and uphold us not only when we are

faced with suffering but in the celebrations of your blessing. Amen.

Prayer focus:   For those affected by the senseless acts of violence in our country and around the world.
