Please read all of the Compass. There are many important items in it this week.

UNDIE SUNDAY

Don't get your knickers in a knot!

Our Undie Sunday drive has begun. It will close on Sunday, May 18th. Mission Services London stated that their current need is Men's Medium boxers, Women's Medium briefs, travel toiletries and Men's shoes size 10 - 12. Feel free to make your own purchases, but as in the past, I have a greater buying power with bulk purchases. Donations can be etransferred to krisgoodman@live.ca (Please note that you will not receive a tax receipt if you etransfer to Kris Goodman). Donations of cash or cheques can be put onto the offering plate with a note on the envelope and on the memo line stating Undie Sunday. Cheques are to be made out to Calvary United Church and you will receive a receipt next February. Mission Services appreciate any of our gifts that we bring and thank us for our ongoing support. This is a very real way that we can support those less fortunate than ourselves.

 LENTEN PROJECT DONATIONS

Thank you to everyone who donated to the 2025 Lenten Project - the Ontario School Nutrition Program. Through your generosity, we raised $2,195 which has been remitted to the VON of Middlesex-Elgin. Five of the city's most needy schools will benefit from these donations.

PETITION FOR THE UNHOUSED

The Antler River Watershed Regional Office has joined forces with the United Churches in Halton Region to encourage congregations to sign a petition that will be going to the Ontario Legislature at the end of June. The purpose of the petition is to make the government aware that the situation with the homeless in communities is worsening and they need more support from the Ontario government to provide solutions. There are copies of the petition located at the back of the sanctuary for your signature. The copies will be sent to the Port Nelson United Church in Burlington who will be part of the group presenting them to the legislature.

GARDEN CLEANUP

Thank you to all of the volunteers who came last Saturday to  clean up our gardens. After winter, there is always a lot of work to clear the debris and make sure that the plants have ample room to flourish. The gardens look great! Thank you for your efforts.

Thank you also to Tim Lindsay for reinforcing the walls and installing a sturdy security system to our shed. There was concern that we might have to replace it, but Tim has done an excellent job making it secure that we do not have to consider that at this time.

 CHAMPION

This Wednesday, May 14th, Karen and Bill Butt will be giving a power point presentation on their experiences as missionaries in Mozambique. All are welcome to come. You don't have to be members of CHAMPION.

The following Wednesday (May 21st), Julie Ryan from Indwell will be speaking to us about Indwell and their future projects. All are welcome to come to hear her presentation.
