CHURCH BAZAAR

If you have any books, DVD's (no VHS tapes) and puzzles that you would like to donate to the bazaar, please bring them to the church and leave them on the stage. Please do not bring CD's.

Calling All Crafters

A wide variety of craft items have been included at our Annual Church Bazaar in the past and have generated a lot of sales.  If you would like to make a donation for the Craft Tables at our upcoming Church Bazaar, please contact Pam Harrison, 519 686-2559 or twoharrisons@rogers.com.  Thank you!

The Newly New Tables are looking forward to getting your treasurers for the Fall Bazaar.

Clean those closets and drawers on the next rainy day, cool day. Remember no clothing nor shoes ... but the rest we happily accept!

Hold off on bringing them to the church until the first week of November.

Jewelry

In preparation for the Nov. 7th church bazaar, a large plastic container has been placed on the table by the parking lot door if you have any of the following to donate to the jewelry table, please put them in the container.

•          jewelry

•          scarves

•          purses

•          hats

Thank you!

Calling All Bakers - Ladies & Gents

We are hoping that you are beginning to think of all the goodies that you like to bake. Your contributions make Calvary’s Sale a success every year!

Things that sell well are cookies, tarts, squares, muffins and small loaves. (no large cakes and pies, thanks)

If your baking freezes well and you would like to store it in either Brenda or Liz’s freezer. Give them a call. Otherwise plan to bring your baking to the kitchen of the church, between 9-11 on Friday Nov, 6, for packing and pricing. Thank you.

Brenda Radforth 519-685-6196 and Liz Macdonald 519-663-5020

Preserves

If you have made some jams and different kinds of preserves , please bring them to the church on Friday, November 6th between 9 -11 so that they can be put onto the preserve table.

CHAMPION

This Wednesday, October 28th, we have a special performance happening. The Stetson Brothers - Jerry Fletcher (Catherine's husband), Frank Ridsdale and Jim Zucchero will be performing for us. They have performed at various venues throughout the city such as the Gathering on the Green. It should be a wonderful performance and everyone is invited to come and hear them. CHAMPION meets at 1:00 pm in the parlour. We are able to pay them through a grant from the Paul Seed Foundation which allows local performers to work and share their talent.

Chaplaincy Grocery Run

Thank you to everyone who donated to the Chaplaincy Grocery Run this October! Calvary along with the Guild family and friends raised $2,110 for the children and their families in the Limberlost and Southdale city housing areas. The Co directors are busy with after school programming for the children, weekly events for the families and looking forward toward a busy Christmas season. Your support was greatly appreciated.

 Heather Guild and Linda Baker

Scripture Readings: Psalm 107; Matthew 23: 1 - 12;

PSALM OF THE WEEK

Psalm 1: 1 -3 from the International Version translation

            Blessed is the one

who does not walk in step with the wicked

or stand in the way that sinners take

or sit in the company of mockers,

but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,

and who mediates on his law day and night.

That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,

which yields its fruit in season

and whose leaf does not wither --

                whatever they do prospers.

 PRAYER FOR THE WEEK

                 Loving God,

we thank you for always providing for us as

            we move through life's seasons.

Enable us to focus on you and not on the

            ways that lead us astray.

Continue to bless us so we my flourish with

you as our guide and our hope.

In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Prayer focus: For bereaved families, friends and neighbours.
