Unfortunately Calvary’s UCW will be closing at the end of this year. Thank you for the many years of service these women have given and the great work they have done.

The Calvary UCW Congregational Purpose is to unite women of the congregation for the total mission of the church and to provide a means through which we may express our loyalty and devotion to Jesus Christ in Christian witness, study, fellowship, and service.
Before March 2020, we met once a month in the parlour for theme-based programs that included worship, sharing of our spiritual gifts, conversation, and activity. Our executive members take turns leading the meetings and we also invite guest speakers. Tea, coffee, and dessert are natural requirements of our social time!
Our responsibilities include the organization and maintenance of essential supplies for the lower hall kitchen and parlour kitchen. We assist in catering of funeral receptions.
Although we are not currently having regular in-person meetings, our Calvary unit of over a dozen members promotes regional and national UCW programs and their funding initiatives. We foster education about the mission of the United Church and support Mission & Service as well as many local charities. Supporting and attending the World Day of Prayer is an annual event. We make phone calls and write letters to reach out to the women of Calvary. Mailing of cards for milestone birthdays, anniversaries, get well, and bereavement is another way we celebrate and stay connected.
