Calvary Compass – April 28, 2026 - Calvary United Church, www.calvaryuc.ca

Dear Friends of Calvary,

Those who were unable to come to the Covenanting Service for the Shared Ministry on Sunday missed a joyous event. It was wonderful to hear the anthem sung by the choir with members of the four churches. Sharing a meal with members of the combined churches was very meaningful. The children from the churches did a wonderful job asking questions of the ministers and sharing their puzzle piece with everyone.

Kim Knowles will be away Wednesday, April 29th to May 4th. Nancy Hind will check the messages and mail while she is gone.

Unfortunately, we have sad news to share. Isabel Fisher, a long-time member of Calvary, passed away in her 102nd year on April 22nd. Beloved wife of the late Douglas A. Fisher. Dear mother of Glenn (Christine) Fisher, the late Karen (the late John) Steward, Pamela Potts, and Kevin Fisher (Geri Dibsdale).  Family and friends are welcome to visitation on Friday, May 1, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London. A memorial service will follow at 12 p.m., in the AMG chapel. For those who are unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed on the AMG YouTube channel.

During this time of sorrow, our thoughts and prayers are with the family and their loved ones.

“Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted.” Matthew 5:4

WESLEY-KNOX CAMP SUMMER CAMP

Wesley-Knox has a tradition of a summer weekend getaway each year, and it's a favourite event of the summer. They would love to invite the Shared Ministries churches to join in!

It has been rebranded Shared Ministries Campout.

Friday, June 19th through Sunday, June 21st at Camp Bimini.

There are cabins available for the overnight stays and there is room for self-contained campers and tents.

Events will be crafts, swimming, hiking, campfires, a talent show, and lots of time to make new friends, relax, read your favourite book and be completely lazy! There is no hard schedule of activities so come be as busy or relaxed as you wish!

Sunday morning we will have a worship service in the outdoor chapel, and all are welcome! Join us for days only or for overnight.

We are also looking for anyone from any of the churches who would like to help plan the weekend, so it's truly a Shared Ministries Weekend for us all.

GARDEN CLEANUP

The proposed date for the garden cleanup is Thursday, May 7th at 9am. The rain date is Friday, May 8th. We will continue to clean up the sand in the parking lot. Mulching will take place on May 22nd. Volunteers are needed for both dates.
