Calvary Compass – April 7, 2026 - Calvary United Church, www.calvaryuc.ca
Dear Friends of Calvary,
It was wonderful to see so many people attending the in-person worship service on Sunday. Thank you to Denise and the choir for their anthems and Katy and Kim for their flute duet. It is always enjoyable to hear James Hibbard on the organ and Denise on the piano playing together. Thank you to Rev. Kerry for the wonderful Easter worship service. He and Rev. Rob had also put together the Sunrise service at McKillop Park for the several brave folks from Riverside, Wesley-Knox, Calvary and White Oaks. The people at Riverside provided a delicious full breakfast for everyone afterwards.
From Tuesday, April 7th to Friday, April 24th, our sanctuary will be busy with the Kiwanis Festival. You are always welcome to come hear all of the youth perform and compete in their chosen musical venue.
Kim Knowles will be away the week of April 13th - 17th. Nancy Hind will be checking for messages and the mail while Kim is away.
The next edition of the Compass will be Tuesday, April 21st.

PSALM FOR THE WEEK
Psalm 16: 8-11 from the New Revised Standard Version updated edition
I keep the Lord always before me;
because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
Therefore, my heart is glad, and my soul rejoices;
my body also rests secure.
For you do not give me up to Sheol
or let your faithful one see the Pit.
You show me the path of life.
In your presence there is fullness of joy.
In your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
PRAYER FOR THE WEEK
Prayer for today or each day of the week:
O God, you are the giver of wonderful council,
You bring fullness even when we are anxious or
overwhelmed with life’s uncertainties.
We lift our prayers to you for our families, friends,
and neighbours and all those that may be struggling
while working toward a peaceful and better life for all.
Grant us courage and joy in following your most
beloved Son, Jesus Christ, our Saviour. Amen.
Prayer focus for the week: In the hours or days of uncertainty – let us pray for Peace.
