Calvary Compass – June 3, 2025 - Calvary United Church, www.calvaryuc.ca
Dear Friends of Calvary,
This coming weekend, there will be lots to do at Calvary. On Saturday at 2 pm, we are having a Hymn Sing in celebration of the United Church of Canada's 100th Anniversary. Other churches and congregations have also been invited to come. On Sunday, we will be celebrating Communion and a Benevolent Offering will be taken. After the worship service, the choir is hosting a Baby Shower for our Music Director, Denise Jung, in the lower hall. All are invited to attend.
Thank you to Bill Butt for conducting our worship service on Sunday. The map of the Indigenous Treaties and Territories was very enlightening and informative. Hopefully your neighbour never has to divide his house if there are questions concerning the boundaries.
On behalf of the congregation, we want to congratulate Bill Butt for being officially recognized as a Licensed Lay Worship Leader ( LLWL) at the Antler River Watershed Regional Spring Council Meeting in Sarnia last weekend. He received a Tippet of which he wore on Sunday and a certificate. It was interesting to see that the Tippet colour matched the colour of Calvary's Choir gowns. (A Tippet is a preaching scarf. The Tippet recognizes the gifts that a LLWL offers when called upon for pulpit supply.)
Worship Services are all live-streamed:
