LONDON COMMUNITY CHAPLAINCY
Calvary's Lenten Project for 2026 is to provide financial support to the London Community Chaplaincy. The Chaplaincy encompasses both Southdale and Limberlost Chaplaincies. The financial support will help to provide funds for the children and youth activities residing there such as after school gatherings, camping experiences, learning opportunities for teens, celebrations, sporting equipment and events, etc.
If you are able, please address your cheque to "The London Community Chaplaincy" and NOT Calvary. There are donation envelopes at the back of the sanctuary for your use.
The Board of the London Community Chaplaincy is looking for people to join their Board of Directors. They hold monthly meetings and support the chaplaincy team events throughout the year. If you are considering joining or would like to learn more about the Board, please connect with Heather Guild (519-860-2476).
OUT OF THE COLD
Holy Trinity St. Stephen's Memorial Anglican Church, near the corner of Southdale and Wellington is being supported by Arc Aid Street Mission in order to open its doors to people seeking a warm place to stay.
From February 17th to April 15th, 30 to 50 people will be offered a secure place to sleep and some light nutrition from 9 pm to 8 am. This initiative is possible in part to increased funding from the City of London.
Calvary's benevolent fund will provide financial support for this project. In addition, there is a need for personal hygiene products and light snacks, which will be offered to those seeking the shelter.
If you feel that you can support this endeavor, a box has been placed at the back of the sanctuary for the following:
- tooth brush, toothpaste, deodorant, soap
- feminine hygiene products
- granola bars, oatmeal cups, fruit cups
- hats, scarves, gloves
Please note - the box for these items is next to the credenza (back of the sanctuary) on the north side. The basket for the Chaplaincy food bank has been temporarily moved to the south side of the main aisle at the back of the sanctuary. There is also a basket for the food bank items in the hallway to the education wing.
Thank you for supporting our unhoused neighbours who face the hardships of a cold winter.
NON-PERISHABLES FOR LONDON COMMUNITY CHAPLAINCY
Currently, there is a need for breakfast items at the Chaplaincy, such as cold cereal, oatmeal, peanut butter, juice boxes, and non-nut granola bars. The food collected will be delivered periodically to LCC, Southdale location and will be shared with the Limberlost location as needed.
As always, the Outreach Committee is continually grateful for the generosity of Calvary's congregation. Thank you!

Psalm 95: 1-5 from the New Revised Standard version updated edition
O come, let us sing to the Lord;
let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!
Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving;
let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!
For the Lord is a great God
and a great King above all gods.
In his hand are the depths of the earth;
the heights of the mountains are his also.
The sea is his, for he made it,
and the dry land, which his hands have formed.
PRAYER FOR THE WEEK
O God, our leader and guide.
Strengthen our faith in your promises, that by
Your Spirit we may lift up your life to all the world
through your Son, Jesus Christ,
our Saviour and teacher. Amen.
Prayer focus for this week: Peace – May Peace Abide everywhere
