Calvary Compass – November 11, 2025 - Calvary United Church, www.calvaryuc.ca
Dear Friends of Calvary,
Today is Remembrance Day! Hopefully you will remember to pause at 11:00 am to think of those who fought in the wars that have occurred since the First World War. Many veterans who came home were never the same mentally and physically plus many more died during the wars. All of their efforts helped to make sure that Canada stayed a free country.
Next Sunday, we will be celebrating Calvary's 135th Anniversary. Rev. Dr. Anne Beattie-Stokes will be conducting our worship service. Afterwards, we will be serving cake and refreshments at our Coffee Hour. All are invited down for it. Rev. Kerry will be at Wesley-Knox United Church.
This is a reminder that there will be a general outdoor cleanup of the church property this Friday (November 14th) starting at 9:00 am. Please bring your own rakes and other tools. Hopefully the snow will have disappeared by then.
Congratulations to Terry Stafford for being the highest bidder for four tickets to the Knights Game on December 19th. Thank you for supporting the bazaar and Calvary. Thank you to A. Millard George Funeral Home and Dave and Christie Mullen for donating the tickets to Calvary.

Psalm for the Week:
Psalm 98: 7-9 from the New International Bible translation
Let the sea resound, and everything in it,
the world, and all who live in it.
Let the rivers clap their hands,
let the mountains sing together for joy;
let them sing before the LORD,
for he comes to judge the earth.
He will judge the world in righteousness
and the peoples with equity.
Prayer for the Week:
Creator God,
the heavens and earth proclaim your glory.
We hear your creative voice In the roar of
our everyday living. Enable us to be faithful
stewards of all that you have made and blessed
us with. Amen.
Prayer focus for the week: those who are sleeping in the cold in our city.
