Calvary Compass – November 4, 2025 - Calvary United Church, www.calvaryuc.ca

Dear Friends of Calvary,

Last Saturday, we had a successful Fall Bazaar with a profit of $5,349.55. Smaller amounts will keep coming in and adding to this total. Thank you to all who helped with set up, with selling the items,  helped to take down the tables and chairs, putting the remaining nearly new items on the stage for pick up, those who donated the various items and those who purchased items at the bazaar. It takes many hands to make a venture successful. At present, the plan is to have a mini sale sometime in December.

Next Sunday is Remembrance Sunday where we remember those who served and lost their lives in support of peace for their country.

On Sunday, November 16th, we will be celebrating our Church's Anniversary. Rev. Dr. Anne Beattie-Stokes will be our guest minister. There will be a special Coffee Hour with cake and refreshments to celebrate the Anniversary.

PSALM OF THE WEEK

Psalm 17: 6 - 9 from the New International Version Bible translation

            I call on you, my God, for you will answer me;

                turn your ear to me and hear my prayer.

            Show me the wonders of your great love,

                you who save by your right hand

                those who take refuge in you from their foes.

            Keep me as the apple of your eye;

                hide me in the shadow of your wings

            from the wicked who are out to destroy me

                from my mortal enemies who surround me.

PRAYER FOR THE WEEK

Loving God, you hear our prayers, you know what is

            written deeply on our hearts. Your promise of keeping us safe

            under the shadow of your wings, like a mother hen, brings us

            great joy. Fill us with a deep and constant sense

            of your presence in all that we do. Amen.

Prayer focus for this week: For those whose suffer through natural disasters.
